📖 오늘의 영문법: 분사구문 (Participial Construction)
개념 설명
분사구문은 두 개의 문장을 분사(-ing / -ed)를 이용해 한 문장으로 압축하는 구조입니다. **부사절(접속사 + 주어 + 동사)**을 짧게 만들어주기 때문에 회의, 이메일, 격식 있는 글쓰기에서 매우 자주 등장합니다.
만드는 4단계:
- 접속사를 생략한다 (when, while, because, if, although 등)
- 주절과 부사절의 주어가 같으면 부사절의 주어를 생략한다
- 동사를 분사로 바꾼다

4. 수동 분사구문 (V-ed)
- Before: When it is given enough resources, the team can hit the deadline.

5. 완료 분사구문 (having p.p. — 시제가 더 과거)
- Before: Because I had finished the design last week, I focused on the spec this week.
- After: Having finished the design last week, I focused on the spec this week. (지난주에 디자인을 끝냈기 때문에, 이번 주에는 스펙에 집중했다.)
