📖 오늘의 문법: 주어-동사 수 일치 (Subject-Verb Agreement)
- each / every + 단수명사 → 항상 단수 동사: Each student has a laptop.
- one of the + 복수명사 → 동사는 단수: One of the reasons is cost.
- neither…nor / either…or → 동사는 가까운 주어에 맞춤: Neither he nor they were happy.
- everyone / everybody / nobody 등 부정대명사 → 단수 취급: Everyone is here.
- 집합명사(team, family, staff) → 미국식 영어에서는 보통 단수 취급: The team is winning.
- the number of (단수) vs a number of (복수): The number of errors has dropped. / A number of errors have been found.
💡 Tip: 헷갈릴 땐 주어와 동사 사이에 낀 수식어(of the students, along with the team 등)는 무시하고, 진짜 주어만 골라내서 동사를 맞추세요.
